Meet Your Coaches

Kevin Laumann

Head Coach

Get to know me:

I got into playing ice hockey as a teenager and played throughout high school. I didn’t start coaching until I moved to the Midwest and had kids of my own start playing hockey.  I have helped coach LTP, 8U, and 10U.  The best thing about coaching these levels is seeing the development of the players and seeing them love hockey.

My claim to fame in the Storm world is when I dressed as a goalie at a 10U practice and stopped a shot by Storm player August Faloon with a glove save (but it did bend my wedding ring!).

Phillip Mues

Assistant Coach

Get to know me:

My favorite thing about coaching is encouraging kids to compete, improve, and develop both as players and as people. One of my favorite hockey coaching memories was helping a young player learn to skate — I slipped and fell right alongside him. It turned into a great moment to show that everyone, even coaches, makes mistakes, and that’s part of learning.

Matt Kollars

Assistant Coach

Get to know me:

How I got into hockey: I started after college because I wanted to try a new sport.

Favorite thing about coaching: I love when you see a player understand a new skill.   When it clicks for them it's amazing to watch.

Bryan Fast

Assistant Coach

Get to know me:

I didn't start playing ice hockey until I was 16, back in 2000 when the arena was built but have been involved ever since.

My favorite part of coaching is when the kids/players have that 'ah-ha' or 'I get it" moment when working on specific skills or drills.

Team Managers

Each age level has a pair of managers that volunteer their time to help everything go smoothly.
Meet your managers:

House: Jennifer Nolda

About me:

I love being part of the chaos… I mean, community. Being a TM is a fast track to getting to know the players, families, and coaches.  It's like a crash course into the world of hockey behind the scenes, and I can use my organizational skills for the greater good!

Fun Fact:

I’m a billet for Tri-City Storm players, and supporting them while they support my Jr. Storm player has been one of the most wholesome experiences I’ve ever been part of. I love being involved in an athlete’s journey and supporting them like family.

Outside the rink, I’m either running my mobile bar, fishing for bass, at the gym, or shooting my bow. I shoot both target and turkey, and honestly, joining a shooting league is my next big thing.
