This age division is for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors from area high schools.

Quick Facts

Structure: House and Travel
Main Focus: Fun
Secondary Focuses: Retaining Players, player development, skill development, engagement, active practices, and team play. 

Goal

The goal of this age division is to further develop skating and stick skills, and build a desire to continue hockey after graduation.

Practice Balance

Skating: 25%
Stick Skills: 15%
Small Area Drills: 25%
Team Tactics: 35%

Roster

Schedule

Practice times may vary week to week depending on ice availability, but this age division practices on:
Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Games are on Sundays.

Locker Room Policy

This age level can change into and out of hockey gear in locker room 2. Dressing in the tunnel area (where the zamboni drives) is strictly prohibited.

Parents are not allowed inside of locker rooms.

League Information

The high school team plays in the Omaha Hockey High School League. Most of the games are played in Omaha, but up to eight home games will be played in Kearney.

Get to know me:
I have been coaching for years, and I'm a level 5 coach with USA Hockey. I am also a doctor in Cozad, NE. My son played youth hockey in this association.

Craig Thurston

Assistant Coach

Get to know me:
I have been coaching youth hockey since 2002. I have coached at all levels. My two sons played through the organization from mites to high school. My daughter played on the 1st girls hockey team from mites to 16u called the Polar Bears. I currently hold a level 4 coaching certificate and I've been an Assistant Coach for the High School team for the last 6 years.

I have been coaching youth sports including Little League baseball, Peewee Football, USSSA Baseball from 9u thru 14u for the last 20 years as well. I was on the TYIHA Board for 5 years as the Co-ACE Director/Coach-in-Chief up until my last son completed his playing career for Tri-City.
